My Style Ethos

I’m Sara, a personal style coach and operatic soprano with a lifelong obsession with vintage and antique everything: clothing, jewelry, accessories, architecture, and decor. I love to live my life surrounded by unique and beautiful pieces of art that tickle my sense of wonder!
As an opera singer, I get to perform some of the most beautiful music ever written. On an even deeper level, I get to be a caretaker for this very special antique art form. I have the honor of maintaining it, keeping it alive, and sharing its beauty with others. That philosophy and connection to art and history shapes how I see fashion and personal style, too.
In my spare time, you’ll usually find me at a flea market or antique mall, digging through dusty piles looking for treasures. I love the whole process—finding something special and unique, learning about its history, taking the time to care for it so it can be loved for years to come, and incorporating it into my curated wardrobe to make creative outfits that showcase my own personal style and life’s story.
I’m always drawn to pieces with stories. To me, personal style is about curation. It’s about building a wardrobe that reflects your life, made up of pieces that feel meaningful and distinctive.
Style has always been part of my world. My great-grandfather owned a menswear manufacturing company, and my grandfather later took it over before becoming Vice President of Sales for Missoni Men’s. My grandmother owned a boutique called Cliffhanger in Ardmore, Pennsylvania in the ’70s and ’80s—one of the first stores focused on teen fashion, especially denim, at a time when young people were just starting to define their own style.

My grandmother had an iconic wardrobe. She mixed vintage with modern, designer with non-designer, and always looked effortlessly elegant and completely herself. Everything she owned had a story, and I loved hearing them! Each garment held so much love and adventure, and through those stories, I was able to learn more about her fascinating life! She taught me to prioritize quality, fit, and tailoring, and to always trust my instincts and only choose things I really loved. Shopping with her was always a lesson in how to build outfits and actually use what I already owned. My grandfather added another layer, using his expertise in menswear to show me how to spot well-made garments and to prioritize tailoring. Together, they taught me to take care of my clothes, to repair and maintain them, and to think of a wardrobe as something you build over time.
That’s exactly how I approach style now.
